When it's comes to cooking,
Her food is deliciously sweet,
Especially her "Iyan and Egusi" soup.
Even if your taste bud is bad,
It won't be so bad to taste her "Ogi and Akara."

Who is like Adetutu?
The strong woman who feigns to be man
Who is like Adetutu?
The one with the dark glowing skin,
The one who was carved by the goddess of beauty,
The "otin" that intoxicates more than Agunloye's fermented palmwine

Her smile is ever present,
A thousand-dollar smile that kills faster than sniper.
The one whose heart is big enough to accommodate all,
Yet too small to be associated with evil,
The rare one with kindness as blood

Different suitors came,
But she choose none.
Neither Omo Oba Adegoke
Nor Alani the goldsmith.
Do not be startled for she is an undiluted manwoman,
The one Yoruba's call "obinrin bi okunrin."
Fiercer than the lion,
Stronger than the whirlwind,
Jagun Jagun obinrin akogun

A warrior with no break,
The woman who doesn't fall 'yakata' in the village ring.
She's our woman right activist
And her priority is the growth of every woman.

Not until that day!

When the sun refused to shine
And the trees were too pained to dance.
It was on the fourth market day,
Shortly after the raid of the human traders.

That day...
Her headless body was found in the market square,
With her hand still clutching her sword tight.
That day she stopped breathing,
That day our hope dashed,
That day fear creep in,
Not the fear of her death or darkness,
But the fear of,
Who will save us
From women slavery?

Till when then will we mourn,
Shaking our heads in despodence
And biting our fingers in regret.
